Lard in Ukraine is no longer just a tradition, but also an attribute of prosperity and well-being. So lard in chocolate has become quite popular lately. Here the critic will probably exclaim with surprise - “these Ukrainians have gotten sick at all, not only have the lard been elevated to the rank of an idol, and now they are pouring chocolate over it”.
And I’ll tell you my friends, if someone envies us, it’s only because they don’t have the opportunity to taste the zapushmat lard and even with garlic in the bargain.
And even if they don't even dream about lard in chocolate, only true Ukrainian gourmets can appreciate this delicacy.
Although not every store in Ukraine can buy such unusual national sweets, and I can tell you they are not cheap.
But then one day I set out to find a suitable and proven recipe for lard in chocolate.
And I did find it, and the result was a pretty great dish.
For the recipe for lard in chocolate, we will take:
Fresh pork lard (preferably from the back there it is softer) - 100-150g
Black chocolate - 1-2 bars
Butter - 60 −100 g
Cinnamon (on the tip of a knife)
Ginger (powder) - 1/3 tsp
Cocoa 1 tea spoon
Nutmeg (ground, on the tip of a knife)
Cardamom (ground) - ¼ tsp
Cooking lard in chocolate
Cut the bacon into cubes and grind in a blender or mince it a couple of times.
From the resulting mass, form a rectangle 1 cm thick on the plank. We send the workpiece to the freezer until it sets completely.
Break the chocolate into pieces, add spices and butter, cocoa and melt in a steam bath.
Pour ½ melted chocolate into an ice mold or from under any chocolates. Cut the frozen bacon into squares of 0, 7 × 0, 7. Place the cubes of bacon in the molds. And pour it over with chocolate again.
We send it to the freezer for 1-1, 5 hours.
Here is the delicacy and ready.
